KANTHA, OUT IN THE WORLD

Vintage sarees are layered and hand-stitched by women artisans in Sikra, Bengal, then reimagined as pieces you can wear your own way. Each one has a past. Where it goes next is up to you.

The hands behind RUAA

RUAA grows through the skills of the people we work with: weaving, stitching, embroidery and the ideas we develop together. Here’s a closer look at the people, materials and choices behind our collections.

People & Places

In Kutch, we co-create with weavers and Rabari artisans; in Bengal, with women who practise Kantha. Each community brings its own knowledge of cloth and craft, and that knowledge helps shape what we make together.

Materials with Stories

Handwoven Kala cotton, locally available fabrics and vintage sarees ready for another life, our materials come with different textures and possibilities. We choose them with care and let their character become part of the design.

Craft, worn your way

We bring these skills into pieces you can make your own. A Kantha textile becomes a reversible layer; handwoven cloth becomes an easy dress. The craft is there in every detail, with room for you to play.
